I have always had a bug for adventure and I am an adrenaline junkie. If it scares me, it sounds like a good time to me. I enjoy driving the open road (ever since I was 16), riding trains, flying in airplanes, kayaking, boating and especially taking detours. I am not, however, fond of buses.
I enjoy doing research before an adventure. I get all the ins and outs. I download all the apps, read all the books, watch all the videos, and collect all the necessary gear. And I always take way too much food.
And then, every now and again, I skip the research.
I simply pick up and go.
Those are the adventures I have the best experiences from. And definitely the ones I learn the most from.

Meet Hank. He is my 2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD ORP. Hank is my favorite piece of adventure gear.
Of all the gadgets and gizmos I have acquired, my 4Runner is, hands down, my favorite piece of equipment to date. Hank is a work in progress and probably always will be. I am always looking for ways to streamline the adventures I take. And since most of them happen with the help of Hank, he gets a lot of attention. He is my ever-evolving bug out vehicle. If the apocalypse happens, me and Hank will be ready.
